What is chase candy company?

Chase Candy Company was a confectionery manufacturer based in St. Joseph, Missouri, United States. It was founded in 1876 by Dr. George Chase, a pharmacist who developed a cough drop that became popular. Over time, the company shifted its focus to candy production and introduced several popular brands, including Cherry Mash, Twin Bing, and Peanut Butter Logs.

Chase Candy Company was a family-owned business until 1954, when it was sold to Philadelphia-based FAO Schwarz. After a series of ownership changes, the company was eventually acquired by Iconic Brands in 2018, which now produces and distributes Cherry Mash and Twin Bing candies.

Cherry Mash, introduced in 1918, is a combination of chocolate, peanuts, and cherry nougat, and has remained a popular candy in the Midwest United States for over 100 years. Twin Bing, introduced in 1923, is a cherry-flavored nougat covered in chocolate and peanuts. Despite facing competition from larger candy companies, Chase Candy Company continued to manufacture and distribute its popular brands until its sale in 1954.
